Consultaion Services

The Institute of Public Administration has been given the mandate to reshape Zanzibar public services in both private and public (government) sectors by equipping public servants with professional and managerial skills. In order to support its mandate, mission, goals and activities, different policies including Research and Consultancy have to be established and implemented. Currently, there is a limited number of research outputs at the IPA. Research activities carried by the Institute, individual staff and students, are uncoordinated and fragmented. The Institute is yet to establish a mechanism for assessing research performance and consequently, publication of findings to different stakeholders. A comprehensive research policy and operational procedures are, therefore, necessary to effectively guide research activities. The policy needs to address issues of capacity building for IPA staff, guidelines and procedures for efficient and effective execution of research activities and research database. It should also guide the dissemination of research outputs to potential stakeholders who will utilize the findings to practically solve problems in public service. Again, IPA would also be guided on how to use the research findings for developing performance improvement programs.
